To mark International Level Crossing Awareness Day 2022; Iarnród Éireann / Irish Rail in conjunction with An Garda Síochána (Irish Police) and the Road Safety Authority with the support of local authorities, will be undertaking safety awareness information sessions at a number of level crossings on the Iarnród Éireann network throughout the day on the 9th of June. To mark the occasion and to further increase public awareness around Level Crossing Safety, Iarnród Éireann have commissioned a number of their Engineering Road fleet vehicles to have a custom wrap applied, displaying key safety messages. These vehicles will be displayed on the day and introduced into the engineering road fleet in the urban centres where the high usage level crossings are located.

List of awareness measures foreseen in our country on 9 June 2022 To mark the day, Iarnród Éireann, An Garda Síochána and the Road Safety Authority with the support of local authorities are undertaking information sessions for commercial vehicles at various level crossings on the Iarnród Éireann network. We will also be speaking with any funerable users that use the level crossings during the manned periods. We will be running Level Crossing safety messages on all our social media accounts and websites. We are also doing this in conjuction with the national TV broadcaster and it will feature on the their news channells throughout the day. We also have the local newspapers and radio stsations involved that are in the locality of the targeted level crossings.

In conjuction with the UIC and ILCAD we modified the current sfaety flyer to replicate the Irish Rail level crossing safety messages. These flyers will be given out on the day at the manned level crossings.
