Awareness measures
On account of upcoming Euro 2012 Football Championships the inauguration of the awareness campaign was held on 24th May.
Various activities were carried on in Warsaw and 21 other cities across Poland by regional Railway Lines Plants. The main events took place in Warsaw and included a simulated train-car collision combined with a save and rescue action in cooperation with railway services, police and firemen.
Additionally in the main headquarters of PKP Polish Railway Lines Company a blood collection event for LX accidents casualties was carried on.
Safety awareness activities are being carried on throughout the year across the country.
7th June in Poland is a Corpus Christi public holiday, therefore we would not be able to carry out ILCAD. We will however be actively communicating that it is an International Level Crossing Awareness Day.
List of measures taken in our country that have improved significantly the safety at level crossings:
1. billboards (6 x 3 m, 1 200 locations),
2. TV spots ( 4 895 views),
3. Radio spots (934 broadcasts),
4. 245 press articles,
5. 50 company vehicles covered with the campaign’s design,
6. banners on level crossings (313 locations),
7. 3 railway cars covered with campaign’s graphics,
8. 115 200 spots on large screens on the street,
9. Leaflets, posters, gadgets.
